Canadian crane service provider expands its fleet – new LTM 1160-5.2 for DeSantis

  • New 5-axle model with a maximum lifting height of 92 metres
  • 5-axle crane type popular thanks to versatile applications
  • Mark Martino: “Liebherr stands for trust”

DeSantis Crane Service Inc. is adding a Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 mobile crane to its fleet. The Canadian crane service provider will use the 180-tonne crane primarily for lifting prefabricated concrete parts and air conditioning systems. The scope of delivery includes lattice extensions that enable the crane to reach a maximum lifting height of 92 metres.

A Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 mobile crane will join the fleet of Canadian company DeSantis Crane Service Inc. “The new 180-tonne crane perfectly closes the gap between our LTM 1130-5.1 and our LTM 1300-6.2. In future, it will mainly be used to lift prefabricated concrete parts and air conditioning systems and as a taxi crane,” explains Mark Martino, owner of DeSantis. With the LTM 1160-5.2, DeSantis has another extremely efficient mobile crane in its fleet. Thanks to ECOmode and ECODrive technologies, fuel savings of up to ten per cent can be achieved – a clear advantage for the environment and economy. Various boom configurations enable flexible applications, while the VarioBallast® system ensures maximum adaptability: whether high lifting capacities with a large ballast radius or constricted sites with the small radius – this crane is equipped for any challenge.

In addition to the lifting capacity, the lifting height of the 180-tonne crane also impressed the crane hire company. Alongside its 62-metre telescopic boom, DeSantis has also ordered three telescopic extensions, a hydraulic double folding jib and the 2.9-metre long assembly jib. This is ideal for the construction of wall elements. In total, the LTM 1160-5.2 reaches a maximum lifting height of 92 metres. “We really like working with 5-axle machines because they are very versatile. The overall package of our new crane is perfect for us,” adds Mark Martino.

“We trust Liebherr!”

“All of our all-terrain cranes are from Liebherr – simply because we trust the brand and our customers also appreciate the reliability of the machines,” explains Mark Martino. The Canadian company has a total of 18 cranes in its fleet. The largest in the DeSantis fleet is an LTM 1400-7.1. The Canadian company also offers a wide range of mobile cranes from 25 to 165 tonnes. Crane service provider DeSantis Crane Service Inc. has been in business since 1997 – performing the assembly and disassembly of precast concrete walls, roofing, air conditioning systems, bridge girders and tower cranes. “Our fleet is quickly ready for action and our service is available 24/7. We prioritise responsiveness, reliability, efficiency and service – a strong team of owners, management and employees is committed to this.”
