Liebherr is launching two world premières at Bauma 2025: the new Generation 6 of the Telescopic Handler and the entry into the 8-Metre Class
- Extensive product development in the lower performance class up to 4.2 tonnes
- An increase in load capacity of up to nine percent
- A new driver's cabin provides greater driver comfort; lower noise levels make it more pleasant to operate
At Bauma 2025, Liebherr is making the first public presentation of the new Generation 6 of the Telescopic Handler. With the new edition of the “S” Telescopic Handlers, in the lower performance class up to 4.2 tonnes, the load capacities have been increased by up to nine percent. The revised cabin has a great deal to offer in driver comfort. Newly introduced Assistance Systems are expanding the application capabilities and make the machine more pleasant and safer to operate. With the new T 48-8s Telescopic Handler, Liebherr is entering the 8-Metre Class for the first time, thereby expanding its product range in the industrial segment.
With the new Generation 6 of Telescopic Handler, Liebherr is building on the proven strengths of the previous series. The hydrostatic drive, a trademark of Liebherr Telescopic Handlers for years, remains a core technology element. This drive technology is impressive, due to precise manoeuvrability, minimal susceptibility to wear and tear and excellent power transmission. The perfect all-round visibility typical of Liebherr has been further improved with the external ROPS/FOPS grille and offers the driver an unrestricted overview of the surrounding work area.
Proven technology is the foundation for increased performance
The new design of the Telescopic Handlers, with load capacities up to 4.2 tonnes, brings with it a significant increase in performance. Load capacity increases of up to nine percent for individual models underline the advance in technology. The electronic pilot control of the operating hydraulics, already successfully used in larger models, is now also being introduced for the Generation 6. New Assistance Systems, such as the bucket shaking function, auto power and improved fine control of the operating hydraulics, expand the application capabilities and the precision of the machines.
Comfort for the driver
The cabin area for the sixth generation of Telescopic Handlers has been extensively redesigned. The external ROPS/FOPS grille not only creates better all-round visibility, it also gives the driver a much more spacious feel. The newly designed steering column with only 3.5 turns to lock is based on automotive standards and enables more intuitive operation. Improved floor mats, a more ergonomic brake pedal and closer matching of the door elements help to lighten the working load. The optional air conditioning system has been further developed with a larger fresh air filter and improved air flow. A particular highlight is the swinging joystick integrated in the driver's seat. In the S models, the joystick is equipped with electronic pilot control for the operating hydraulics and mounted directly on the driver's seat. This solution reduces fatigue and offers more precise and ergonomic control of the Telescopic Handler.
Safety first
Safety aspects have taken top priority in development. LED work spotlights with significantly better illumination, warning flashing lights in different colours and an acoustic seat belt warning, noticeably increase operational safety. The work spotlights have been designed so that they illuminate the surroundings brightly and evenly and significantly reduce energy consumption compared to halogen lamps.
Future outlook and areas of application
The new Generation 6 products address specific challenges in the areas of material handling, construction and vehicle rental. With continuous further development of proven technology and additional intelligent functions, Liebherr has positioned its Telescopic Handlers as state-of-the-art, first-line machines for demanding applications.
World première in the 8-Metre Class
A newcomer to the product range, following Bauma 2025, is the Liebherr T 48-8s. This is the first Liebherr Telescopic Handler in the 8-Metre Class and adds another model to the successful range of industrial Telescopic Handlers. Based on the proven platform of the T 55-7s, the new machine offers ample power even for heavy-duty industrial applications, together with all the equipment features that customers value in Liebherr Telescopic Handlers. The maximum lifting height of eight metres expands the application capabilities and the higher dumping height gives distinct advantages, particularly for loading trucks. The new T 48-8s Telescopic Handler, also marks Liebherr’s first entry into the 8-Metre Class, strategically expanding its portfolio in the industrial segment.
