Liebherr Opens New Subsidiary

In Hamburg Port

The new Liebherr sales and service centre, comprising an area of 44,000 m² in the Kuhwerder Harbour, was officially opened beginning September 2019. The location offers a good and wide-ranging infrastructure: easy access to motorways and railways, a public transport network and direct water access via three quays.

“As the Hamburg Port Authority, we are extremely proud when we see today what an attractive location the company Liebherr has constructed in the heart of our Hamburg Port within such a short period of time,” says Jens Meier, CEO of HPA.

LiUP®

Crane Driver Elevator

The elevator for mobile harbour cranes, called LiUP, is designed to transport the operator in a safe and efficient way to his workplace.

The device features an innovative drive technology powered by an electric motor with lithium-ion battery. This has the great advantage that no disturbing cables are necessary. When the lift is lowered, the innovative drive concept is also able to recover up to 40% of energy.

Inauguration Ceremony

TCC 78000

Liebherr Rostock officially inaugurated its new heavy-duty gantry crane TCC 78000 at the Rostock Overseas Port. It will not only support the family business Liebherr with the loading and assembly of ever larger maritime cranes from its own production, but will also offer other companies the opportunity to handle heavy loads at Rostock Port.

"Thanks to its unique combination of lifting height and capacity, the TCC 78000 has the best technical potential available to safely and economically assemble and load the next generation of maritime cranes," summarised Leopold Berthold, Managing Director of Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH.
