STS cranes on the way to Morocco

Liebherr Container Cranes delivers the first four of eight STS to Tanger Alliance in Morocco. The cranes have been assembled in Cadiz, Spain, and barged 100 km to the Tanger Med 2 terminal. The megamax cranes with an outreach of 72 m and a lift height over rail of 54 m will easily handle the world’s largest container vessels.

Six cranes will be delivered this year with a further two in 2021.

Four BOS Cranes for oil platforms in Azerbaijan

Being an offshore crane of the latest generation, the Liebherr BOS crane represents state-of-the-art technology and is the right choice for applications requiring high lifting capacities at medium or high outreaches.

Four new cranes of the BOS-series will serve these requirements in 2021 on two offshore platforms in Azerbaijan. The Umid Babek Operating Company (UBOC) was not only impressed by the performance of the crane, but also by the Liebherr service competence and local service network.

Low consumption and high comfort

Salerno Container Terminal SPA, one of the leading Italian terminal operators, relies on Liebherr Port Equipment. SCT operates 12 Liebherr machines, including eight Liebherr reachstackers.

In addition to the high Liebherr quality, the LRS 545 impressed above all with its low diesel consumption and very good driving characteristics. SCT's reachstacker drivers underline the comfort in the cab and the good view of the load and surroundings.

High Speed Bulk Handling

The CBG 360 is a four-rope grab crane that has already established itself very successfully in the floating transshipment market since its introduction in 2018. With its A8 classification and high operating speeds it is one of the most powerful cranes of its size.

The Big Data Analysis System LiDAT smartApp enables an additional optimisation of the crane performance. A collision warning system increases safety when operating several devices simultaneously.

  • Max. outreach: up to 36m
  • Outreach extension: up to 12m eccentric platform
  • Max. lifting speed: up to 130m/min
  • Max. lifting capacity: up to 45t in grab operation

Purely Electrical

The all-electric LPS 420 E gantry crane has more than proven itself in cargo handling at the NCSP Group, the largest Russian port operator in terms of cargo throughput.

Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port has ordered two more units of this type and expects crane number 2 to be delivered shortly. NCSP is thus taking a further step towards an emission-free port and is developing into an environmentally conscious role model in the industry.

The LPS 420 E is especially optimised for terminals with a power supply ranging from 380 V to 460 V. Thanks to the Liebherr active-front-end frequency converter deviations in the voltage supply can be compensated easily for safe and stable operation.

Two Firsts for Liebherr Maritime Cranes

The LHM 420 is not only the first of this type in Argentina but it is also the first mobile harbour crane ever to be fully assembled with the aid of Liebherr’s new Remote Service tool.

Close cooperation between Liebherr-Argentina S.A. on site in Campana and head office Liebherr MCCtec Rostock GmbH, Germany lead to a smooth and timely handover of the crane to the customer.
