NEW HOSPITAL BUILDING
Job report – the positioning system LIPOS supports continuous flight auger drilling
Fast approach to the drilling points
The LIPOS positioning system played a decisive role in simplifying the work steps: without this system the drilling points would have to be newly measured, drawn and marked at least three times a day.
COMPARISON | with LIPOS | without LIPOS |
---|---|---|
Drilling plan for the driver | digital | in paper form |
Manoeuvring to the next drilling point | GNSS-guided | on sight |
Ground markings for orientation | not necessary | peg irons, colour markings, sectional framework |
Re-measure drilling points | not necessary | min. 3 x daily |

More than 1000 piles
The available land required substantial foundation work before it was able to support a whole hospital. In an area of 23,000 m², 1,310 piles had to be installed. All piles have a diameter of 630 mm and are being installed using the CFA (continuous flight auger) method. The maximum depth of the foundation piles was 16 m..
A LB 28 drilling rig was used, which was equipped with the LIPOS positioning system for the first time.
