Liebherr goes Podcast
The Seatrade Maritime Podcast recently aired our first pilot podcast episode with Tim Ladendorf, Global Application Manager for Ship cranes, port, and transshipment solutions. Within this framework, Tim gave valuable insights into bulk handling, current market situation, important trends and future requirements for customers and cranes. Special attention was given to the development of the highly anticipated CBG 500 E, Liebherr's all-electric handling solution. The exciting podcast episode laid the foundation for future episodes.
ZHD Stevedores orders first all-electric CBG 500 E
The crane impresses with a lifting capacity of up to 105 tonnes in hook operation and a maximum grab capability of up to 90 tonnes. It will be used for bulk handling in Rotterdam and the ZHD terminals in Dordrecht and Moerdijk. Tailor-made features have been developed in close cooperation with ZHD to best suit the demands of the operation fields to serve. The “Ahoy 50” floating crane will be able to operate either with shore power supply or with onboard power supply when connection to the terminal is not available. The onboard electricity will be generated by newly installed Stage V gensets, conforming to the latest emission standards in the business.
Euroports Germany shines with LPS 420 E
This remarkable portal crane offers a locally emission-free operation and is designed specifically for ports with electric infrastructure, making it a flexible and environmentally friendly solution.The LPS 420 E sets new benchmarks for electric-driven bulk handling performance with its exceptional turnover of up to 1,200 tonnes per hour and an impressive outreach of 48 metres. It can effectively service ships up to Panamax class.
Semi-automated STS crane for Brisbane Autostrad
One of the first cabinless Liebherr ship to shore container cranes to enter service. This semi-automated crane is a first for Patrick Terminals. The crane features extensive automation and utilises Liebherr’s Remote Operator Station (ROS) for pick and place over the vessel and for exceptional handling.
Borg Havn modernises port with LPS 420 E
New Liebherr all-electric portal slewing crane of type LPS 420 E will be the first of its kind delivered in Norway. The crane is a key asset for handling every type of cargo, from containers to bulk, general cargo, and heavy lifts up to 124 tonnes – local emission-free. The expected delivery is late 2023, and in the long run another crane that has been in use since 2008 will be replaced. Among the crane’s unique features is an observer cabin attached near the tracks at the bottom of the crane.
