Liebherr-Transportation Systems will maintain and overhaul HVAC systems of Class 158 vehicles

Liebherr-Transportation Systems has renewed an existing contract from UK train operating company East Midlands Trains Ltd. to maintain and overhaul cab cooling and saloon air-conditioning systems, which are installed in 50 Class 158 DMU (diesel-multiple-unit) vehicles.

The vehicle fleet, made up of two and three car sets, is operated by East Midland trains, which are owned by the Stagecoach Group. Based in Derby, the company provides train services in the East Midlands region of the UK, chiefly in Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire.

Routine maintenance work will generally be carried out on vehicle, and any off car overhaul works will be completed in the maintenance facility of Liebherr-Transportation Systems at Gatwick (UK).
