The British operator’s new Class 700 fleet consists of 115 trains with 1,140 cars and will enter service over the next few years. Engineers from Liebherr-Transportation Systems and Siemens will be working together on a continual basis to further improve, develop and refine the service scope, methods and periodicity to ensure the most effective maintenance processes as well as highest levels of passenger comfort.
Materials, support, training and off-car repairs will all be supplied by Liebherr-Transportation Systems from its 10,000 sqft service center at Gatwick (UK), which is in close proximity to Siemens’ main train service depot.
This long-term servicing of the air conditioning systems will start in late 2015 for an initial period of ten years and underlines both strategy and capability of Liebherr to add significant value to their rail customers.
