This 240-tonne capacity haulage solution not only plays an important role in reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions but is also compatible with a range of charging options, both static and dynamic, for optimal onsite flexibility. And on top of all this, the T 264 Battery Electric can be used autonomously, with Liebherr’s Autonomous Haulage Solution, to further enhance safety, productivity and efficiency.

Zero emission

The T 264 Battery Electric produces zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions during operation, reducing a mine's overall carbon footprint and helping to reach decarbonisation targets. A fleet of T 264 Battery Electric trucks can reduce energy cost per tonne by 86%.

Flexibility

With a variety of charging options available and a chemistry-agnostic approach to its design, customers can find the version of the T 264 Battery Electric that works best for their operations.

Faster speed on grade

The increased power output from the battery power system of the T 264 Battery Electric means that this haulage solution can outperform its diesel counterpart in speed on grade.

Fortescue Zero is developing groundbreaking technology which push the boundaries of engineering, making industrial, enterprise decarbonisation a reality.

Liebherr and Fortescue Zero are working together to integrate the battery power systems developed in-house at Fortescue Zero, into Liebherr's mining trucks, to create zero emission haulage solutions for the mining industry.

Autonomous Haulage Solution

Liebherr’s Autonomous Haulage Solution (AHS) is revolutionising mining operations by combining cutting-edge automation technology with real insights to enhance the productivity, safety and efficiency of your operations.

The autonomous platform has been designed with the future in mind and is compatible with both diesel-electric and zero emission energy systems. The AHS can be integrated with Liebherr’s Fleet Management System (FMS) Energy Management System to orchestrate the replenishment of Liebherr’s zero emission mining truck.

With the AHS, customers can enjoy:

Static charging

A static charging solution has been developed alongside the T 264 Battery Electric. The static charger will be available in both manual and robotic versions and includes an automated connection system of up to 6MW with a megawatt charging system connector that can charge battery-electric T 264 trucks in under an hour.

Dynamic charging

Liebherr currently offers two different kinds of dynamic charging solutions for its mining trucks: the Trolley Assist System and Liebherr Power Rail.

Trolley Assist System

The Trolley Assist System can be used as a dynamic charging solution for battery-electric mining trucks. It uses an overhead pantograph to connect the trucks’ electric-drive system to the mine’s electrical network.

Liebherr Power Rail

Liebherr Power Rail is a class-agnostic dynamic charging concept based on the company’s existing trolley bar technology, utilising a bar mounted on the side of the truck. This solution is designed to be easy to install and to relocate on site.
