Bringing light into the dark

Recently, six of our digital smart cameras embarked on an exciting journey — into the mysterious depths of underground mining at our customer’s Sandvik.

The Swedish group supplies tools and equipment for various areas, such as metal cutting, mining and rock excavation. Rough environmental conditions in underground mining require robust and reliable components for their machines. This is exactly where Liebherr’s digital cameras come into play. Stress tests conducted by Sandvik showed that our cameras reliably ensure a good view even in very dark underground mining environments.

No time for downtime, but surely for more safety! With the smart condition monitoring for bearings, Liebherr has developed a digital remote monitoring system for your applications – be it mining, material handling or maritime equipment.
