Gruas Aguilar modernises crane fleet with seven new Liebherr cranes
- Gruas Aguilar orders Liebherr cranes with lifting capacity ranging from 50 to 1200 tonnes
- The LTM 11200-9.1 is the largest telescopic crane sold in Spain since 2009
- The LR 1600/2-W narrow track crane is for the new wind power division
- Liebherr after-sales service an important factor in the decision
The LRT 1100-2.1 will be the first Liebherr new series rough-terrain crane in Spain. Liebherr first unveiled the LTM 1230-5.1 at its customer days in June. Gruas Aguilar decided very quickly to invest in this new 5-axle crane with a 75 metre telescopic boom. The LTM 11200-9.1 is the largest telescopic crane sold in Spain since 2009.
The LR 1600/2-W narrow track crawler crane has been specially designed for wind farm jobs. With its crawler travelled gear measuring just 5.8 m wide, the fully equipped 600 tonne lattice boom crane can travel from one turbine to the next on the narrow tracks in wind farms. The crane supports are extended for hoisting work. Luis Aguilar, Managing Director at Gruas Aguilar, says: “We have been interested in the characteristics of the LR 1600/2-W for years, particularly its mobility on site and its lifting capacity. And then we decided that we had to have one of these cranes in our fleet. And it will make an important contribution to our new wind power division which we are currently establishing in our company.”
Another major factor behind the purchasing decision was the excellent service from Liebherr. Aguilar explains: “Liebherr personnel are always there for us. They provide support and solutions to the challenges we face. Spare parts deliveries are always fast and reliable. Liebherr’s after-sales service is genuine added value.” Aguilar also states that the fact that Liebherr cranes retain their value so well is another major criterion in the purchasing decision.
Gruas Aguilar will celebrate its 50th anniversary in October. The company’s success is based on complete customer focus in the fields of crane rental and heavy haulage. Currently the company runs more than 50 mobile cranes with lifting capacities from 40 to 1200 tonnes from its six branches in Spain. More than 60 percent of these cranes bear the Liebherr name.
