750th Liebherr mobile construction crane goes to Heros
Liebherr has delivered its 750th mobile construction crane to Heros Kraanverhuur B.V. The Belgian-Dutch haulage contractor is a long-term customer of the construction machinery manufacturer and already uses a large number of Liebherr machines for its wide range of services.
The landmark crane was handed over at Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH. Rob Heeren, Managing Director of Heros, and Patrick De Jong, a salesman from Liebherr-Nederland B.V, came to the manufacturing plant in Biberach an der Riss, Germany to take delivery of the new crane.
The MK 88 Plus is the third mobile construction crane owned by Belgian-Dutch haulage contractor Heros Kraanverhuur B.V, which has sites in Antwerp and Moerdijk. The company has a workforce of around 30 and its fleet already includes a total of 20 Liebherr machines.
The reasons behind the purchase of a third mobile construction crane from Liebherr particularly included the reliable service which the Dutch Liebherr branch provides – even at weekends. With a maximum radius of 45 metres, a maximum load capacity of eight tonnes and a maximum hook height of 59.1 metres, the mobile construction crane has a very compact, manoeuvrable design coupled with high lifting capacity, making it ideal for jobs in built-up urban areas or, as is often the case with Heros, at ports, working on container ships.
The origins of the mobile construction crane can be traced back to the basic idea of company founder Hans Liebherr, who wanted a tower crane which was easy to transport and erect. Liebherr unveiled the first new-generation Liebherr mobile construction crane in 1999. Since then, they have enjoyed great popularity all over the world. Customers in Central Europe, in particular, appreciate the flexible crane as a result of its short set-up times and its practical one-man concept. Demand is constantly high as the construction machinery manufacturer constantly continues to develop its models.
