Responsibilities
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a team of PLC Software developers working on crane upgrades, customer service issues and crane projects across the project lifecycle. Project teams are composed of PLC software developers, electrical designers, and automation engineers.
The Project Manager will be responsible for:
• Scheduling PLC Software team workload management across projects, PR Jobs, and technical support for field issues.
• Manage project schedules in conjunction with internal departments, external suppliers and provide clear overview of resource allocation and project status.
• Liaise with manufacturing, installation, commissioning, customer service and other departments to resolve any issues related to project delivery in a timely manner.
Key Elements of the Role:
• Complete oversight of project status and resource allocation across all projects.
• The Project Manager will lead project teams and interact across functional and site department groups to achieve project objectives.
• Expected to run the projects with some strategic guidance from their manager/peers but can work independently for the most part.
• They will be working with a multi-departmental team to execute the project, so will need the soft skills to manage people, particularly when they are not direct reports.
• Keep project stakeholders updated on project status throughout the organisation.
• Occasional travel to customers or suppliers for training and development.
Qualifications, Requirements and Experience
- Min Level 7 degree in any of the following disciplines: Project Management / Engineering.
- Typically, 2+ years project management/engineering experience, preferably in the industrial automation / maritime environment.
- Project Manager qualification is a distinct advantage.
- Industrial Engineering experience at a technical level desirable.
