“Be Part of Something Bigger”: Apprenticeships and career opportunities at Liebherr at Bauma 2016

  • The Liebherr Group offers various career opportunities
  • Information on Liebherr as an employer and training organisation at the Career Point and in Hall B0
  • Job vacancies and apprenticeships primarily in the technical field

In addition to its numerous product innovations on show at Bauma 2016 from 11 to 17 April 2016, Liebherr also presents apprenticeships and career opportunities available in the Liebherr Group. Visitors have the opportunity to obtain information at the Career Point of the Liebherr exhibition stand, as well as in Hall B0.

With an outdoor exhibition stand of approx. 14,000m², over 60 impressive exhibits, including numerous technical worldwide innovations, this year Liebherr showcases itself at Bauma 2016 under the motto “Be Part of Something Bigger”. The same also applies to the large range of vacancies. This year the Liebherr Group will present information on direct employment and career paths for young professionals and experienced skilled personnel at its own Career Point at the main stand.

Career opportunities for skilled personnel

Whether you are a development engineer, IT specialist, customer services technician or industrial designer – a range of cross-industry activities and international development opportunities are open to skilled personnel at Liebherr. Furthermore, the Liebherr Group provides information on the many possibilities of apprenticeships and dual degree programmes in Hall B0.

Become familiar with job profiles at the “Think Big!” student campaign

In cooperation with the German Engineering Federation, Liebherr informs young visitors about apprenticeships, studies, careers and the industry within the framework of the “Think Big!” student campaign. At the 60m² stand in Hall B0, students are given the opportunity to find out what is important during welding at a welding simulator in realistic conditions. With virtual reality glasses the visitors take a tour through a training centre in 3D, thus obtaining insights into the training opportunities available at Liebherr. There is also the opportunity to control authentic device models at the stand through a sandpit.

Broad range of training offers

From an apprenticeship to a dual degree programme or an internship through to final thesis – as a strong partner, Liebherr supports and encourages young individuals in their trade. In Germany and Austria alone Liebherr trains young people in many technical and commercial professions, as well as in the service and gastronomy sectors, at over 25 locations. The apprentices are supervised in modern training workshops and work on practical projects from the planning stage through to the realisation. Liebherr thus offers exciting training routes and the opportunity to join the company directly upon successful completion.

Popular job profile: Mechatronics engineer

Apprentices are in particular demand in the technical field – they may apply for a position of a mechatronics engineer for example, for which Liebherr provides training at around 20 locations in Germany and Austria. Over three and a half years the apprentices learn to put together systems and machines from mechanical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic components, and to commission and operate these systems and machines. “We are in regular contact with specialists from the respective technical departments. This is possible thanks to the link between the professions of mechanic and electrician or electronics engineer,” is how Marius Haisch describes the concept. The 17-year-old is in the second year of his apprenticeship to become a mechatronics engineer at Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH in Kirchdorf an der Iller (Germany). The skills and knowledge, which he acquires during his apprenticeship, optimally prepare him for his dream job.

In addition to the apprenticeship to become a mechatronics engineer, Liebherr offers apprenticeships in the technical field for industrial mechanics, electronics engineers for industrial engineering, construction mechanics, metallurgy technicians for mechanical engineering, as well as dual degree programmes in the area of mechanical engineering.
