Liebherr compact wheeled excavators at Maxpo 2019

  • Two machines that comply with Stage IV exhaust emissions standard
  • Compact design – Powerful drive
  • Maximum fuel efficiency and minimal maintenance costs
  • Comfortable and safe workstation for efficient work

At Maxpo 2019, Liebherr presents the A 914 Compact Litronic and the A 918 Compact Litronic from the range of compact wheeled excavators. Both machines comply with the requirements of the Stage IV exhaust emissions standard. The machines impress with their high performance levels, as well as excellent driving distances with very low fuel consumption.

The Liebherr A 914 Compact Litronic wheeled excavator has an operating weight from 15,200 to 17,500 kg and an engine power of 105 kW / 143 hp. The configuration of the exhibit at the trade fair includes a 4.85 m long adjustable boom and a 2.45 m long stick.

The operating weight of the A 918 Compact Litronic is between 17,500 and 19,600 kg. The 115 kW / 156 hp machine combines power and speed with enormous flexibility. The equipment consists of a 5.05 m long adjustable boom, as well as a 2.45 m long stick.

Both machines are equipped with a 2,550 mm wide undercarriage with dozer blade at the front and outriggers at the back, which increase the stability of the machines. The mudguards of the two machines at the front and rear axles reduce the cleaning effort and avoid damage to the uppercarriage from airborne dirt.

Flexible application – even in confined spaces

The Liebherr compact wheeled excavators show how practical and versatile they are in daily operations. Some of the biggest challenges for machine operators in urban areas are created by the confined spatial conditions on construction sites. Apart from a tight tail swing of only 1.75 m (A 914 Compact) or 1.85 m (A 918 Compact), it is therefore necessary to take into consideration the entire envelope circle for a 180° rotation. This consists of the tail swing and minimal front swing radius. For the A 914 Compact the minimum working area required is only 3.97 m and for the A 918 Compact only 4.35 m. This allows work in confined spaces, such as in the area of civil engineering, canalisation, pipeline construction, as well as road construction. Thanks to the speeder configuration of both machines the speed can be increased to 30 km / h. As a result, the driving times on the construction site, as well as between sites, are reduced.

Higher performance, less consumption

The requirements of the Stage IV exhaust emissions standard are met in the two Liebherr compact wheeled excavators with the combination of a diesel oxidation catalyst and a SCR system. A particulate filter can be installed as an option depending on requirements. The complete system reduces exhaust gas emissions effectively and has no negative effect on performance.

Fuel consumption is reduced significantly with the innovative Liebherr Power Efficiency (LPE), which optimally regulates all power management processes of the Liebherr compact wheeled excavators. Proactive intervention in the engine control, the change of the swing angle of the hydraulic pump, as well as the adaptation of the engine speed, lead to optimal efficiency of the drive components in every situation.

Comfortable cab, simple maintenance

The two Liebherr compact wheeled excavators are equipped with modern Liebherr operator's cabs, which offer the best possible environment for comfortable and productive work with high levels of concentration. The standard equipment includes a foldable armrest, which offers the machine operator enhanced safety when entering and leaving the cab. Thanks to the large windows, the machine operator has optimal visibility of his working area at all times.

Furthermore, the simple and intuitive operation facilitates day-to-day operations. The standard operation of the excavator support via the proportional controls at the joystick levers offers greater comfort. The machine operator does not have to alternate hands when moving the machine and can complete levelling work sensitively and precisely.

The new automatic working brake is installed as standard. The service brake is opened automatically upon start-up and closes again when the machine is at a standstill. This ensures maximum safety and high productivity owing to shorter response times.

The service-oriented layout of the machine guarantees short maintenance periods and minimises the associated maintenance costs. All components requiring maintenance are clearly arranged on the right-hand side of the machine, can be easily accessed from the ground and thanks to the large, wide-opening service doors are easy to reach.
