Maritime cranes

Oil and gas

Liebherr offshore cranes are deployed for the assembly, repair and supply of oil and gas extraction systems. The performance capacity, size and also the way the cranes are constructed varies according to the respective requirements profile.

The Liebherr ram luffing crane (RL) is designed as a compact and weight-optimised crane for jack-up rigs or smaller and unmanned platforms and is used primarily for support or maintenance tasks.
Cranes of the BOS-series (board offshore cranes) are mainly installed on floating installations where larger boom lengths and higher loads are needed.

Advantages at a glance

For use in explosive areas, the relevant customer requirements for various design solutions are available not just for the boom area but also for the whole crane. All relevant components of the crane can be reached by means of a catwalk which ensures the highest level of safety during maintenance of the crane. In accordance with the requisite construction regulations, opportunities exist to install emergency assemblies as well as software-related equipment of the crane with safety-supporting systems.

Liebherr has a very well established service network that spans the entire globe. This means that, in the event of a malfunction, a well trained service technician can get to the customer on-site as soon as possible. The high degree of standardisation across the whole product range and a permanently well stocked warehouse ensure fast provision of the necessary spare parts.

Liebherr offers special equipment for handling pipes and lines for setting up oil and gas extraction systems. The ram luffing knuckle boom crane (RL-K) can be equipped with different pipe grabbers of load manipulators.
