Packaging Intern - FallNewport News, VA
Intern will be involved in working with the packaging engineer and warehouse logistics team to create work instructions, procedures for packaging, branding and preservation of components.
Responsibilities
- Work with packaging engineer to create work instructions and procedures.
- Work with receiving, shipping and kitting to test the work instructions and procedures.
- Prepare, compile and approve documents through Sharepoint.
- Store completed documents in designated locations and maintain change logs.
Competencies
- Education and Experience: Current active student in good standing who has completed 60 hours towards a related Bachelor’s degree. Engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel ,Outlook, PowerPoint and Windows
- Skilled in basic keyboarding.
- Skilled in reading basic tools of measurements, i.e. tape measure, calipers etc.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to use photography equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Writes clearly and informatively.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
- Monitors delegated activities to ensure tasks are accomplished.
- Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time.
- Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments.
- Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
- Attention to detail.
- Self-starter.
