First cornerstones of cooperation agreement with Deutz drawn up

Liebherr and Deutz have agreed upon the first cornerstones for cooperation in the worldwide distribution of diesel engines. This involves diesel engines in the power range between 200 and 700 kW that can be used for different applications.

Liebherr Machines Bulle SA is intending to extend the worldwide distribution and servicing of diesel engines with Deutz AG as its partner, in addition to direct sales. Liebherr engines will be sold under the Deutz brand name in this case. The engines are being developed for the emission standards EU Stage V, US Tier 4, China IV and EU Stage IIIA, and therefore comply with current and future statutory emission regulations.

“Thanks to a possible cooperation agreement with Deutz, we can continue to expand our worldwide sales activities”, adds Rudolf Ellensohn, managing director of Liebherr Machines Bulle SA.

An especially close cooperation is envisaged on the Chinese market. There, Liebherr is planning to grant the company the rights to locally produce a 9-litre engine.

Liebherr and Deutz are affirming their commitment towards a long-standing successful cooperation through this key issues paper. Both companies are currently working on the detailed wording of the cooperation agreements.
