Twindexx Swiss Express
The Swiss railway operator has contracted Bombardier Transportation Switzerland AG to build 59 new double-deck trains for its long-distance services. Liebherr was selected by Bombardier to develop the hydraulic actuator for roll compensation and active lateral suspension for the bogie.

Electro-hydraulic actuator
On the basis of a new actuator concept, Liebherr developed an actuator for the roll compensation for the TWINDEXX Swiss Express together with Bombardier.
The extremely compact design integrates a complete hydraulic system and has the electronics fully integrated inside the actuator.
By means of this actuator speeds in curves can be increased by up to 15 per cent, while maintaining comfort.
This actuator concept can be also used as a cost-effective tilting solution.
