Advance into the next class: Schlamann strengthens its position with Liebherr LTM 1300-6.3
- LTM 1300-6.3 now the largest mobile crane in the Schlamann fleet
- 90 metre telescopic boom sets standards in the 6-axle class
- Liebherr partner for over 35 years
Schlamann-Autokrane GmbH has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1300-6.3. With the new crane, the North German crane company based in Nienburg is entering the 6-axle mobile crane class. At 90 metres, the LTM 1300-6.3 has a very long telescopic boom, which is predestined for applications in the field of infrastructure expansion, such as the installation of electricity pylons. The long-standing partnership with Liebherr was another important criterion in the purchase decision.

The next generation is already at the start: Managing Director Torsten Schlamann and his daughter Katharina traveled to the manufacturer’s plant in Ehingen to take delivery of the crane. He explains the investment in the next crane class: “Until now, the 5-axle LTM 1250-5.1 was our largest crane – we are in the classic taxi crane business. But we have received an increasing number of inquiries that we can no longer cover with our portfolio. That’s why we decided to move into a new dimension for us. The long telescopic boom is ideal for use in infrastructure projects, such as the installation of high electricity pylons for high-voltage lines. With the second winch, we can turn components very easily.”
Record boom
With its 90-metre telescopic boom, the LTM 1300-6.3 sets new standards in the 6-axle class and far surpasses the current cranes on the market. It is designed as a fast-erecting crane with high performance at high lifting heights and a steep jib position. The LTM 1300-6.3 achieves the record length of 90 metres with an 8-section telescopic boom, pivot section plus seven telescopic sections. This is one section more than comparable cranes in this class. Liebherr has optimized the entire steel structure of the crane for lightweight construction in order to be able to carry the complete boom as well as all support beams and a hook block with a twelve tonne axle load on public roads.
Although the LTM 1300-6.3 is not designed as a luffing jib crane, its range of lattice jibs is diverse: 11.5 to 20 metre double folding jib, two 7 metre lattice sections as telescopic jib extensions, 39 metre TS fixed jib and 43 metre hydraulically adjustable NZF jib. This enables the 300-tonner to reach lifting heights of up to 120 metres. Particularly economical: various lattice sections are compatible with other models in the Liebherr range. "The hydraulically adjustable NZF jib is perfect for us, as we can also operate it on our LTM 1250-5.1," says Schlamann.
Schlamann-Autokrane GmbH operates 21 mobile cranes, almost all of which are from Liebherr. "We have been a Liebherr customer for over 30 years. Liebherr is a reliable partner, the cranes are of high quality and retain their value. The service is excellent. And another advantage: The control of Liebherr mobile cranes is standardized from small to large cranes. This allows us to deploy our drivers flexibly." In addition to mobile cranes, the company, which has almost 90 employees at four locations, also rents out work platforms and forklifts. The fleet comprises around 250 devices and machines.
