MK 140 Plus on the Rhine Promenade in Bonn

An MK 140 Plus operated by Salgert GmbH has been at work on the banks of the River Rhine in the former German capital of Bonn. It hoisted roofing material on to a multi-story residential and office building in the District of Bad Godesberg.

As a result of the difficult space conditions, Salgert's MK 140 Plus had to be assembled a relatively long way away from the site.

Both available jib extensions were fitted to the mobile construction crane to enable it to reach the roof behind the treetops from the bank side promenade. The resulting maximum radius of 65m enabled the MK 140 to achieve a lifting capacity at the jib head of 1000kg with just 9 tonnes of additional ballast. The roofing material for this job weighed in at precisely this value.

In addition to mobile construction cranes, the company's fleet also includes mobile cranes, working platforms and forklift trucks. Salgert has owned the MK 140 Plus since March 2016.
