The new Liebherr crawler excavator generation
A new generation of crawler excavators
The generation 8 of Liebherr crawler excavators is a look into the future. Liebherr completely revised the basic concept of the machines in order to offer customers even higher-performance and more comfortable products. The highlights of the new crawler excavator generation include the higher engine power, the heavier counterweight for higher bucket capacities and minimal fuel consumption. Other innovations are the boom concept with modified head for better boom forces and the optimized load curve, which leads to fuel savings.
In the launch phase, the generation 8 includes the eight models – R 922, R 924, R 926, R 928, R 930, R 934, R 938 and R 945. All engines comply with the requirements of EU emission stage V.
Greatest possible comfort and maximum safety
This latest generation of crawler excavators is equipped with comfort cabs, which improve the machine operator’s experience. The cabs feature suspended pneumatic seats, sophisticated climate technology, a user-friendly 7‘’ touchscreen display and a retractable windshield.
The crawler excavator lighting package is completely revised. Liebherr now uses LED lights, which provide optimal illumination, long-term reliability and energy savings. Rear and side mounted cameras ensure increased safety. Other safety features include the certified rollover protection cab structure, an emergency exit through the rear window and a foldable armrest, which makes entering and exiting the machine easier.
Higher power with lower consumption
The new crawler excavators have higher digging forces and greater traction of the undercarriage. The swing torque of the upper carriage was also optimized. These improvements to the excavator result in higher performance and improve fuel efficiency.
Different undercarriage combinations are possible for all models. For example, the new WLC undercarriage was developed specially for heavy-duty operations that demand high stability.
Simplified and even safer maintenance work
Maintenance work on Liebherr generation 8 crawler excavators is now even simpler. The access to the upper carriage was extended and the maintenance platform has handrails.
In some models, the maintenance points are also accessible from the ground. With the new generation of Liebherr crawler excavators, the fluid levels of engine oil, hydraulic oil, fuel and urea can be viewed from the cab.
