Deep sea
Setting-up oil and gas extraction systems underwater requires the use of specially equipped cranes. For this area, Liebherr offers the ram luffing knuckle boom crane (RL-K) with deep sea equipment.
This subsea crane can be used to support all necessary tasks such as setting-up or dismantling conveying equipment, repairs or activities onboard.
Advantages at a glance
During deep sea deployment, the movements of the ship during positioning of the loads by the crane must be compensated for. Heavetronic is Liebherr's own-developed sea swell compensation system. It registers and analyses ship movements, calculates the likely movement as a result and regulates the ship's movements proactively and fully automatically with the aid of the winch system.
Liebherr has a very well established service network that spans the entire globe. This means that, in the event of a malfunction, a well trained service technician can get to the customer on-site as soon as possible. The high degree of standardisation across the whole product range and a permanently well stocked warehouse ensure fast provision of the necessary spare parts.
All relevant components of the crane can be reached by means of a catwalk which, aside from safety, assures the highest level of maintenance-friendliness.
In accordance with the requisite construction regulations, opportunities exist to install emergency assemblies as well as software-related equipment of the crane with safety-supporting systems.
