Telematics – telecommunications and informatics – help to transfer mobile machinery data, in order to gather, store and process it in a cloud. Depending on the application, these data are for measuring and monitoring environmental parameters (e.g. temperature), machine data (e.g. position, fuel level), wear and tear data and logistics information.

Our IoT gateways are the key to connectivity – the hardware with which you can implement efficiency-raising telematics applications. Our gateways do not only enable applications such as condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, telemetry and software updates over-the-air – they are also prerequisite for the automation of mobile machinery.

Cloud connection and edge computing

Edge computing: As the gateway is able to pre-process data before transferring it to the cloud, data traffic can be optimized. You can connect our gateways to all common clouds, such as:

  • AWS (Amazon)
  • Azure (Microsoft)
  • Cumulocity (Software AG)

Our IoT gateways can communicate with all clouds – and also with your own solution. We will be delighted to look at your individual requirements.

Free configurability

Based on the Linux operating system, the gateways are freely programmable and embedded in a fully configured Yocto build system. The open system with programming interfaces makes them universally applicable – full innovation capability for your applications.

Ideal network coverage and connectivity

Whether 2G, 3G, 4G or 5G in the future – our gateway portfolio supports all previously available mobile standards. The integrated modem manager constantly monitors and controls the connection quality. Therefore, your machine stays connected to the available network and has the best possible connectivity. A sudden network change in the field is not a problem. Our MCG is also equipped with two antennas. This antenna diversity ensures a higher data rate and better availability.

Performance

Whether simple applications with single-core i.MX6 processor or high-end solutions with quad-core processor: Depending on your requirements, our gateways do not only enable standard applications, e.g. localization and data transfer, but also specific applications, such as M2M communication and software update over-the-air (FOTA).

Comprehensive support services

To help you get started with our gateways, we are happy to conduct individually-designed introductory workshops and software training sessions with you. Firstly, we will discuss the application you would like to implement with our gateways and introduce you to the software tool chain. You are also welcome to carry out initial software implementation tests here. With our demo application for data collection and transfer to common clouds, as well as the configuration via Node-RED, this works very easily.We will be delighted to adapt workshop content to reflect your needs and wishes.

Security

Your sensitive machine data is securely transferred and protected from unauthorized access. Our specially designed Chain-of-Trust concept offers you data security throughout the complete product life cycle, from product development until to end-of-life. The file system, communication, update and boot-mechanism are therefore encrypted and your machine is protected.

Continuous development (Form-Fit-Function)

A look into the future: 5G, IP65 and High-Position GNSS – beside adapting to reflect evolving mobile phone standards, protection classes and satellite navigation, we are further developing the gateways in terms of interfaces, security, certifications and cloud providers. Thanks to Form-Fit-Function these changes are not a problem. Even with updates, software interfaces, pin connections and installation space of the device remain the same – this protects your investment.
