Liebherr Tower Cranes and John Paul Construction celebrate 50 years of partnership
Irish construction company John Paul Construction is celebrating two anniversaries this year: its 75th anniversary and 50 years of partnership with Liebherr. Representatives from the Liebherr family shareholders and Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH travelled to the Emerald Isle to mark the occasion. Liebherr tower cranes supplied by John Paul Construction are currently in use on two major construction sites in Dublin.

Better in every detail: the new 440 HC-L from Liebherr
The next generation of Liebherr luffing jib cranes has arrived. The 440 HC-L easily manages an out-of-service position of less than eleven metres, reducing the space required. Lifting capacity has been increased, new materials have found their way into crane production and assembly times are now shorter.

18 Liebherr cranes involved in replacing Germany’s second longest road bridge
The Rader High Bridge spans the Kiel Canal along Germany’s A7 motorway, the northbound high-speed link from Hamburg to Denmark. The bridge is to be replaced and widened over the next few years. 18 Liebherr cranes, ranging from the 65 K.1 to the 150 EC-B, are taking care of the lifting work. Some of the cranes have been erected in the water.

Future-ready crane production: Liebherr invests in metal processing system
An innovation that is a world first of its kind: the new deburring line for cut parts at the Liebherr production site in Biberach. Working with specialists from ARKU Maschinenbau GmbH, Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH and Teqram B.V., Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH has automated the edge rounding of plasma, oxyfuel and laser-cut metal sheet. In doing so, the company is making the production of tower cranes fit for the future.

Contributing to a project as iconic as the Basilica of the Sagrada Família, which has been under construction for over 140 years, is a rare experience. The Liebherr 710 HC-L and 125 HC-L luffing jib cranes have been selected to bring this project to completion, with the primary task being the completion of the Tower of Jesus Christ, the temple’s main tower set to reach 172 metres in height.

With the Used Equipment Marketplace, Liebherr is launching a new portal specifically for the sale of used machines. On this digital platform, customers can find a wide range of used construction and material handling machines, used attachments and accessories as well as used spare parts – directly from certified Liebherr sales and service partners. The Used Equipment Marketplace is available both as a website application in the new Liebherr design with many different features and as an app for quick, direct access on a smartphone.

Liebherr tower cranes renovate bridge in Spain
A major bridge in Seville is being renovated with the help of two high-top cranes. Securing them to the bridge’s pylons proved a tricky task in terms of planning and assembly, as the struts had to be guided through the stay cables connecting the carriageway to the pylons.

Liebherr’s 125 K: The largest fast-erecting crane in a successful family
With a radius of 55 m and a hook height of up to approx. 66 m, the Liebherr 125 K is currently the largest fast-erecting crane on the market. Visitors at Intermat 2024 in Paris can now see the innovative K series concept for themselves. A well thought-out assembly system and low logistics costs make the Liebherr fast-erecting cranes particularly useful for shorter projects. The 125 K is, for example, ideal for work on construction projects such as multi-story residential buildings, bridges and industrial facilities. It can be operated with a mobile energy storage system if the on-site power supply is insufficient.

Liebherr tower crane works on unusual bridge construction
At first glance, it looks as if the Liebherr tower crane is floating in the air. Only the new bridge structure and the ground beneath it can be seen where the crane's foundations would normally be. The challenge at the construction site in Wittenberge (Brandenburg) is that the landscape surrounding the bridge is a nature reserve, so everything has to take place in as little space as possible. This has created an unusual site situation involving an approach that has never been seen before in Germany.

Liebherr at Excon: solutions for the Indian construction and raw material industry
Excon is the most important construction machinery exhibition in South Asia. From 12–16 December 2023 in Bangalore, Liebherr is presenting five machines from its Earthmoving und Cranes product segments. At the approx. 1000 m2 booth, visitors can see a tower crane, a rough terrain crane, two wheel loaders and a crawler dozer. The exhibited machines offer customised solutions for the construction industry in the Indian market.

Liebherr L1 fast-erecting crane at work inside Passau Cathedral
The organ at St Stephan's Cathedral in Passau incorporates 17,974 pipes, making it the largest Catholic church organ in the world. Renovation work means that there is currently a special visitor at the church. A Liebherr L1-24 fast-erecting crane has been given the honoured task of carefully moving the organ pipes, which weigh several hundred kilograms.
