Liebherr was founded in 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The Upper Swabian builder recognises the signs of the times: He develops the first mobile tower crane in the world, thus speeding up the reconstruction. At the same time, he lays the foundation for a successful family-run company with this groundbreaking invention. Hans Liebherr's visionary ideas, his unmistakable instinct for future-oriented technologies and new markets and his passion were decisive for the continuous growth of the Liebherr Group from the start and over the decades. In a company history spanning more than 70 years, Liebherr has now demonstrated stability and reliability thanks to the personal commitment of the company owners and the self-image as a family-run company and is known as a pioneer for future-oriented, high-quality innovations.

As an independent family-run business, Liebherr has a great amount of freedom in all activities to act and make decisions.
