Liebherr to Supply Anti-Buckling Systems to Mile City Tramway in China
Liebherr-Transportation Systems was recently selected by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. (China) to supply anti-buckling systems for nine light railway vehicles to be operated in the city of Mile of Yunnan Province (South of China).
Liebherr will carry out the contract by the company Zhejiang Liebherr Zhongche Transportation Systems Co., Ltd., located in Zhuji (China). The company is a joint venture of Guangzhou Zhongche Railway Vehicles Equipment Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. (30%) and Liebherr (70%).
The anti-buckling systems will be serviced by Liebherr throughout the whole life cycle of the trams.
The hydraulic anti-buckling system assures that the specified clearance profile is kept under any operating conditions. The system is monitored by means of a standard electronic controller BK3 integrated by Liebherr. The anti-buckling system substantially improves ride comfort and reduces wear on the wheels as the position of the bogies is simultaneously controlled by a common hydraulic system.
Dirk Junghans, Managing Director Sales, Marketing and Customer Services of Liebherr-Transportation Systems GmbH & Co KG stated: “The contract with CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. highlights the competitiveness of the solutions Liebherr offers in the field of hydraulic actuation for rail vehicles.”
