French President François Hollande Pays a Visit to Liebherr-Aerospace’s Site in Campsas

French President François Hollande visited the site of Campsas, near Toulouse, which is Liebherr’s center of excellence for the machining of high precision aerospace air management parts.

François Hollande, President of France, visited during his tour in the region of Montauban the facility of Liebherr-Aerospace in Campsas on May 5th, 2017. Members of the Liebherr-Aerospace management board presented 3D-printed parts produced through the additive manufacturing process, which have a considerable potential of contributing to a greener air transport of the future.

The Campsas facility is specialized in the machining of high precision parts for aerospace air management systems such as turbine and compressor wheels and bodies for high temperature valves. These parts are integrated into the air conditioning and the bleed air systems supplied by Liebherr Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Liebherr’s center of excellence for air management systems, to most of the aircraft manufacturers in the world.

The site of Campsas employs 170 employees and recently underwent an extension and modernization investment to accommodate the need for the ramp-up of such programs as the A320neo. It now features last generation machine equipment – including additive manufacturing – and a new manufacturing hall.
