The new designations allow direct assignment to Liebherr ship crane in combination with the maximum lifting capacity. From LS to LS-C: so you know precisely what you'll require in the future.
Areas of application
Heavy lift handling
The handling of heavy goods on appropriate ship types presents particular challenges in terms of technology and demands the highest level of precision and safety. Liebherr ship cranes with capacities of up to 1000 tonnes enable the independent handling of heavy goods and breakbulk in ports. To unleash the full crane potential, several cranes can be operated in tandem.
Container & general cargo handling
Multipurpose and container ships require space-saving, fast and reliable crane solutions. The Liebherr range of cylinder luffing and
wireluffing ship cranes comprises economical and functional material handling equipment for containers and break-bulk cargo.

Cranes with history
With Liebherr products, you profit from decades of experience in the design and construction of ship cranes. Liebherr has been supplying the shipping industry with a broad variety of ship cranes since 1958 when the first ship crane was developed at the Liebherr factory Biberach. The B36 ship crane had a lifting capacity of 3 tons, and even back then the focus was on loading operations that shortened lay times.
Much has changed over the years, such as the lifting capacity of our ship cranes, which can now lift up to 1000 tons. The names have also changed over the years: From B36 to LS and LS-C. The new designations allow direct assignment as Liebherr (L) ship crane (S) in combination with the maximum lifting capacity at the end of the designation. The core competencies remain unchanged: Safety, speed and reliability still characterize our ship cranes more than 60 years later.
