The Intern’s role is to offer support across various Human Resources disciplines to the staff of the Human Resources Department.
Responsibilities
- Keep track of employment records, which may include applications, hiring decisions, and employee performance evaluations.
- Generate notifications for new hires and exits, ensuring that all relevant parties are informed about these changes in the organization.
- Assist HR professionals with ongoing projects. These projects may be related to Compensation, Benefits, Immigration, and HR Information System (HRIS).
- Scheduling Exit Interviews for HR professionals.
Competencies
- Education and Experience: Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program with enough credits equivalent to a Junior with good academic standing in the field of Human Resources or related field of study.
- Academic Knowledge of HR Fundamentals - Knowledge of employment law and governmental regulations.
- The ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of staff inside and outside the organization is vital. This includes both written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Time management and project management skills.
- The ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive, confidential information is a must in HR roles.
- Proficiency in PC-Based Applications: Proficiency in PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, and MS Office and Outlook is often required.
- Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS) can also be beneficial.
- The ability to work well both independently and as a team member.
- The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.
- The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Travel domestically up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
