Heavy duty offshore deployment
Heavy duty deployment, such as operations involving the erection of wind parks or the assembly of oil rigs, require the highest level of precision and safety. Liebherr offshore cranes are designed especially for these challenging tasks.
With decades of experience in development and construction, Liebherr has designed a heavy duty crane for a load bearing capacity of up to 2,000 tonnes.
The CAL is designed in particular for jack-up vessels. These vessels can drive to their deployment site with their own drive system and support themselves there on the sea bed with the aid of four lowerable mainstays. As its name suggests, the CAL is installed around one of the legs. Furthermore, the parallel jib can also be placed over one of the legs. In this way, the maximum loading area on deck is available despite the size of the crane.
Advantages at a glance
Liebherr has a very well established service network that spans the entire globe. This means that, in the event of a malfunction, a well-trained service technician can get to the customer on-site as soon as possible. The high degree of standardisation across the whole product range and a permanently well stocked warehouse ensure fast provision of the necessary spare parts.
Liebherr places high demands on the quality of its products. For this reason, important components and electronic systems are developed and manufactured in-house. A high degree of standardisation for many of the components makes it possible to collect important data for ongoing improvement of the components used. In this way, Liebherr ensures a long service life of all of the components.
With heavy lifting, precision crane movements are decisive. During precise positioning of loads up to 2,000 tonnes the crane operator must be able to reply on the control system of the machine. The Litronic control system developed by Liebherr assures the transmission of commands without delay. Litronic is integrated in every offshore crane from Liebherr and makes it easier for the crane operator to get used to the environment and also change between different crane types.
