“Closed loop” guarantees manufacturing quality

Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH gives your machines maximum transparency with a modular platform consisting of data profiles and protocols. This is supplemented by digital data exchange between the gear cutting machine and measuring instrument: the “closed loop” makes a key contribution to integrated quality control in production.

The manual and analog return of quality data for workpieces in manufacturing is increasingly being replaced by automated and digital transmission. The “closed loop” between the gear cutting machine and measuring instrument thus guarantees process efficiency and product quality.

Convenient data transfer by GDE (Gear Data Exchange)

The geometrical and process data of the workpieces can already be conveniently parametrized at the preparation stage using the offline programming system on the LHGearTec user interface. The data are then transmitted digitally to the machine, either in Liebherr’s in-house format or by GDE (Gear Data Exchange), which is a standardized, cross manufacturer format.

Graphic visualization of measurement results

Optionally, Liebherr also offers measured value transfer via GDE with the user interface LHGearTec. This not only transfers the measured values themselves but also visualizes the measurement record in a graphic. “The visual representation of the measured values allows us to hand the user a crucial tool”, explains Florian Schuon, Head of Digital Solutions at Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH. “It enables users to decide for themselves whether to accept or adjust the corrections derived from the measurement results as calculated by the machine.” A further convenient feature is the various filter functions, for example for arranging the measurement results according to date. Using a converter, older machines can also feed in measurement results in GDE format and receive them digitally via the LH90 user interface.
